When Bill Hutson’s father moved into the Columbia Retirement Community, he had no idea that he would find a calling as a volunteer. Bill started Trivia Classes at the community, and now finds himself tested by the intellect of so many persons above the age of 80 who are knowledgeable in history, geography, literature, science and just about everything else he throws at them.
In return, his love of history has been embellished by their past stories and experience of history 60 or 70 years ago. “I just love it!” he says. “When I enter the doors of Presbyterian Community, I thank God for allowing me to reach out to all of the residents.” Bill says he has gained as much from them in many ways as he has given.
