A Six-Ring Olympics?

A six-ring Olympics logo? For eight years, the Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina have sponsored annual PCSC Olympic Games, bringing their five Communities together at the Columbia Community to compete for the championship trophy. This year, the Ninth Annual Games will include for the first time, their newly- acquired sixth location, Laurel Crest in West Columbia, hence an expanded logo. On April 13, chartered buses bringing competitors, cheerleaders and supporters will converge at 700 DaVega Drive and the Olympic torch will reign. Opening ceremonies feature a newly-organized Kazoo Band, cheerleaders, food and fun. Five games are scheduled: Putt-Putt, Bocce Ball, a timed .25 walk, Wii Bowling, and a Spelling Bee. Each location (Clinton, Columbia, Easley, Florence, Summerville, and now Laurel Crest) has invested months of preparation in preliminary competition, with two-person teams chosen (one man, one woman) for each sport. Medals are awarded for the male and female winners for each game; the Championship Trophy goes to the community with the most points. The public is invited to join in this version of Senior Fun.
